Beauty determiner

Women were forced to go through a strict series of tests and measurements to determine beauty. If their eyes were the same distance apart as the two outer rings of this device they could obtain jobs, the vote and dine alone in restaurants. If one of theirs eye aligned with the inner hole then they were forced to live a solitary suburban life of catfood and fingerless gloves.

(contributed to the Museum by Hannah & Owain, Manchester)
