‘Brut’ men’s perfume with essence of Musk

Men of the Oil Age often anointed their bodies with perfumed chemicals. The perfume in this example contained essence of Musk, a potent (but, in its raw state, obnoxious) substance secreted from the glands of alpha males. It was surprisingly popular in the late Oil Age, leading to increasingly ‘Brut-ish’ behaviour. Users were led to believe that the essence would enable them to conquer the world and, with sufficient use, probably other planets too.
