COLLECTIONS: CLOTHING AND DECORATION

shuttlecock

Fragment of a head-dress

A highly-valued rare piece that was thought to form part of a late 20th century headdress. Worn predominantly by the denizens of more affluent regions where high status was denoted by the splendor and height of one’s headdress - the most magnificent of these is thought to have been made up of more than 500 of these objects.
