Nurdles

Said to be mermaids’ tears, millions of these plastic pieces wash up on beaches all over the world. Scientific examination reveals the tears to be extremely toxic and it is speculated that they may have been deliberately released into the sea to adsorb and cleanse toxic pollutants from the water. Their toxicity is sometimes seen as an expression of the ocean’s anger at man’s polluting of its waters.
