Fragment of interplanetary rocket

As Earth increasingly suffered from the extreme consumerism of the late capitalist era, many of the world’s richest people hatched secret plans to escape projected resource depletion and environmental degradation. Fearing extinction as a result of the capitalist way of life, billionaires attempted to explore and colonise other planets. Most of these attempts were doomed to failure: this fragment is believed to date from an unsuccessful mission to Proxima Centauri b in 2031.
