tornado wristband

TORNADO ISO’ wristband

A rare artifact providing evidence for the dangerous thrill-seeking sport of ‘Storm-Riding’. People were thought to relish the increases in extreme weather characteristic of the Age of Oil. These wristbands were worn when entering danger zones of powerful storms. Survivors were rare and few contestants survived more than three such events.

(found on Felixstowe beach and contributed to the Museum
by Charlotte Leader)
