Trumpeteer souvenir
This golden flame-maker is believed to an object of self-promotion propagated by the Dynasty of America First Trumpeteers (DAFT), which prevailed in the early years of the 21st century. Gold was a key feature of such items, which marked their possessors as adherents of Trumpeteering and therefore made them relatively safe (albeit not immune) from the ever-present fear of ‘extra-murality’ (namely, ejection to the other side of The Great Wall of America). Profits from the sales of such items purportedly funded the coating of the dynasty's headquarters in New York in pure gold (ironically, sourced mostly from China).
